It was a night like any other night except it was New Years Eve and I was in a strange place. I was visiting Europe and was chosen to be a part of the local celebrations for the New year. These old villages have strange rituals and traditions they have celebrated for hundreds of years with very little changes to them. One was to take a maiden from a neighboring village and make her a part of their own. She is taken by a group of village members dressed up as creatures like beings a cross between demonic ghouls and trolls. In furs and greenery they come and take her from her home ringing huge cow bells the whole time.
